Contemporary Mixed-Media Paintings

I create paintings intuitively, without beginning with a fixed image or a predetermined message.

I work with layers of paint, paper, cardboard, texture, found elements, and words—using recycled and reimagined materials as an essential part of my process.

Layers are at the heart of my work. I build, cover, scrape, reveal, and transform the surface, allowing the painting to develop as I respond to what is happening in front of me.

For me, the layers can speak to the experiences, emotions, memories, expectations, and roles we accumulate throughout life. What is underneath may disappear, reappear, or remain partially visible.

Words sometimes become part of the composition. They are fragments of ideas that have stayed with me—about love, truth, presence, expectations, connection, and simply being ourselves.

I don't want to tell you what a painting should mean.

I want to leave space for you to see what you see, feel what you feel, and find your own connection with the work.
